Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance
- Assist nursing staff with vital signs, ADLs, and documenting patient status accurately
- Support a safe and clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team to ensure continuity of care
- Observe and report any changes in patient condition to registered nursing staff promptly
- Contribute to a positive team culture by stepping in where needed and offering encouragement to residents
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (active or eligible in Pennsylvania)
- Completion of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program
- Basic CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
- Strong communication skills and a caring bedside manner
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as assisting with transfers and turning patients
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient hygiene and activities of daily living (ADL) support
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Infection control and standard precaution knowledge
- Ability to collaborate with nursing staff and follow care plans
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
- Empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills
