Certified Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care
Location: Danbury, CT

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living
- Help with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention efforts
- Monitor and document resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and feeding as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to protect residents and staff
- Communicate warmly and clearly with residents, families, and the care team
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Connecticut (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working in a long-term care/skilled nursing environment
- Ability to pass background check and health screening (immunizations, TB testing as required)
- Dependable, compassionate, and patient-centered with good communication skills
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care and bedside manners
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe resident transfer techniques
- Accurate and timely documentation of care provided
- Understanding of infection prevention and resident safety practices
- Teamwork and clear communication with nurses and interdisciplinary staff
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
