Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Accurately document care activities and observations in patient records
- Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and coworkers
- Follow infection control standards and facility policies to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) in Pennsylvania
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained shortly after hire
- Willingness to complete facility-required health screenings and immunizations
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by policy
- Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-focused attitude
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care and activities of daily living
- Familiarity with patient safety and infection prevention practices
- Comfortable assisting with mobility and safe patient transfers
- Good documentation skills and basic comfort with electronic charting
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks during busy shifts
