Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report meaningful changes to nursing staff
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
- Support documentation and charting so the care team has up-to-date information
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to meet patient goals
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state-certified) required
- Minimum comfort and competence with basic clinical tasks and resident support
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent resident care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; successful completion of an approved CNA program and state certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in personal care and safe patient handling
- Knowledge of infection prevention and basic clinical procedures
- Accurate vital signs measurement and reporting
- Comfortable with basic electronic charting or paper documentation
- Empathetic communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Good time management and ability to prioritize care tasks
