Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, age‑appropriate direct personal care to assigned residents
• Take and record vital signs, measure output, and recognize abnormal signs and symptoms
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
• Implement restorative care activities including range of motion and assistive device use
• Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition to the care team
• Follow infection control practices, universal precautions, and safe body mechanics
• Collaborate with the treatment team to support individualized care plans
• Respect patient rights and promote dignity in all interactions

Qualifications

• Certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers — must be obtained within six months of employment
• Minimum six months of experience working in a long-term care (LTC) facility
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand simple sentences in English and follow instructions
• Comfort working with patients who may have cognitive or behavioral challenges
• Physical ability to perform essential duties, including lifting and patient transfers
• Previous work experience in Hawaii is a plus

• Long-term care practices and personal hygiene/bodily care
• Basic nursing skills: vital signs, measuring output, recognizing abnormal findings
• Infection control and universal precautions
• Activities of daily living (ADLs) and restorative care techniques
• Patient assessment and documentation/reporting
• Medical and nursing terminology
• Observation skills and the ability to accurately recall and report events
• Cultural competence and respectful patient-centered communication
