Shift Type: Per diem (days vary based on facility needs), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift)

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting — with dignity and respect
- Provide safe transfer and mobility assistance, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Measure and record vital signs and report any concerning changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support mealtime needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and communicate effectively with the care team
- Create a warm, reassuring environment that promotes comfort, independence, and quality of life for geriatric residents
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Active, unrestricted ability to work in Maryland (state-specific certification/registration as required)
- Comfort working with older adults and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with nursing staff and families
- Reliable, punctual, and able to pass background and health screenings per facility policy
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification (state-approved) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing assistant procedures and infection control practices
- Skillful in safe patient handling and use of mobility aids
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with documenting care in electronic or paper charting systems
- Strong observation skills to notice and report changes in resident condition
- Empathy, patience, and a calm demeanor when supporting residents with cognitive or physical challenges
