Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) on an 8-on/6-off rotation. Typical pattern: Wednesday–Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (with on-call Thursday and Friday nights and on-call coverage through that weekend), then Monday–Wednesday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (with on-call Monday and Tuesday nights). Shift type: rotating day with scheduled night on-call coverage.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care and treatments to patients across the acuity spectrum
- Manage ventilators, titrate oxygen and respiratory support, and perform advanced airway care
- Respond quickly and effectively during on-call periods and emergent respiratory events
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Document assessments, interventions and patient progress clearly and in EPIC
- Perform diagnostic testing such as arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation
- Educate patients and families on therapies, discharge planning and home respiratory equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control and department policies
Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license for Montana (or eligible for Montana licensure)
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or CRT credential preferred
- Hands-on experience with ventilator management and critical care respiratory procedures
- Experience with EPIC documentation required
- Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and night coverage rotations
- Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or able to obtain
Education
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related healthcare field required; Bachelor’s preferred
- Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment skills for respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions
- Proficiency in ventilator setup, weaning and troubleshooting
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapy accordingly
- Skilled in airway management, suctioning and nebulized therapies
- Familiarity with EPIC for charting, orders and interdisciplinary communication
- Excellent communication, critical thinking and teamwork under pressure
