Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional high risk antepartum nursing care for patients from 6 weeks to 41 weeks gestation
• Manage medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate with precision and safety
• Maintain and care for central lines (CVC/PICC) and perform IV therapy and phlebotomy when needed
• Circulate for C-sections and support the surgical team to ensure smooth, safe deliveries
• Assist with sterile speculum exams at the bedside and support amniocentesis and other procedures
• Operate and monitor PCA pumps and syringe pumps to manage patient comfort and therapies
• Provide compassionate care for patients experiencing fetal demise or loss and coordinate with NICU and postpartum teams
• Float to the postpartum unit to support patient transitions and family-centered care
• Document patient care accurately and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications

• Current RN license; compact license accepted at Swedish facilities
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; experience with C-sections required
• AWHONN Advanced required
• BLS and NRP required
• ACLS preferred
• Comfort maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) and managing high-risk antepartum conditions
• Ability to float to postpartum unit and work collaboratively across teams
• First-time travelers welcome; travel experience is not required

Knowledge & Skills

• High Risk Antepartum care including PTL, previa, preeclampsia, diabetes, hypertension, PROM, twins, and substance use disorder in pregnancy
• Antepartum procedures and bedside sterile speculum exam support
• Labor and delivery management and circulating for C-section
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line maintenance (CVC/PICC)
• Medication management: anticoagulants, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate
• Experience with PCA pumps and syringe pumps
• Comfort with critical situations and compassionate support for loss and NICU-related postpartum care
• Certifications and proficiency with AWHONN Advanced, BLS, NRP; ACLS a plus
