Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) to enhance patient comfort and dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient conditions accurately to support clinical decision-making
• Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility to reduce fall risk and promote independence
• Communicate changes in patient status clearly and promptly to the nursing team and charge nurse
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols to protect patients and staff
• Document care and observations thoroughly and professionally in the patient record
• Support patient nutrition and hydration needs, including assistance with meals and meal documentation

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; appropriate state registry or license for North Carolina preferred
• Previous experience as a CNA in long-term care, rehabilitation, or acute care is a plus
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed accredited CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and infection control practices
• Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Ability to assist with ADLs and patient mobility safely
• Familiarity with charting and basic clinical documentation
• Good interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and the care team
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow care plans and nurse direction
