Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, helping with bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Assist with meals and feeding when needed and ensure residents are comfortable during meal times
- Take and accurately record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff
- Document care delivered in a clear, timely manner to support continuity of care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
- Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
- Support residents’ emotional and social needs through respectful, person-centered interactions
Qualifications
- Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification — NC certification preferred or eligibility to obtain
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus but not always required
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing and personal care skills (ADLs, transfers, ambulation)
- Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
- Infection control and safety procedures
- Safe patient handling and body mechanics
- Compassionate, patient-centered communication
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
