Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 06:45 AM - 07:15 PM (day) and 06:45 PM - 07:15 AM (night); block scheduling with Days + Call as assigned; rotating schedule includes weekends (every other weekend) and every other holiday
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $81 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Interpret fetal monitoring strips and make timely, evidence-based clinical decisions
- Provide high-acuity 1:1 nursing care for patients on pitocin, magnesium, or insulin drips
- Deliver couplet care (typical ratio 1:3) and comprehensive postpartum nursing
- Titrate and manage common infusions (pitocin, insulin, magnesium) per unit protocols
- Float to Med/Surg and the Emergency Department as needed and provide safe patient care across settings
- Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to meet quality metrics
- Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and the multidisciplinary team to maintain a safe, locked unit environment
- Troubleshoot monitoring equipment (Philips tele/monitors) and use Traceview/PIP EFM systems
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license (state of practice)
- BLS certification required
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (OB/L&D experience strongly preferred)
- Comfort and competence with fetal strip interpretation and critical thinking in obstetric emergencies
- Ability to titrate drips (pitocin, insulin, magnesium) per protocol
- Meditech EMR experience and familiarity with Traceview/PIP and Philips monitors preferred
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, NRP, STABLE
- Must meet radius rule: no FT/PT/PRN employment with CommonSpirit-associated facilities in the past 12 months
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Labor & Delivery nursing and postpartum/couplet care best practices
- Electronic fetal monitoring interpretation (Traceview/PIP) and Philips telemetry systems
- Drip titration and infusion management (pitocin, insulin, magnesium)
- Meditech charting and electronic documentation workflows
- Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and crisis resource management
- Ability to float across Med/Surg and ER while maintaining safe patient care
- Familiarity with AWHONN guidelines and unit-specific ratio expectations
