Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid assessment and triage to prioritize patient needs in a busy ER
• Stabilize and manage acute and trauma patients using evidence-based practices
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary team members
• Maintain up-to-date competency through required testing and skills checklists
• Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient flow and outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license with license/certificate verification (Iowa) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
• Emergency nursing experience preferred and ability to work every other weekend and holiday
• Must meet Trinity checklist and specialty competency testing requirements
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, Influenza) and fit test

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency triage and rapid patient assessment skills
• Proficient in IV therapy, medication administration, and trauma care
• Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and calm decision-making under pressure
• Clear communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation and compliance
