Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients during night shift
• Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic and ventilator data to guide care
• Administer medications and advanced therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document changes in clinical status
• Educate patients and families with clarity and empathy about care goals and progress
• Participate in unit-based competency testing and maintain specialty certifications

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (ability to obtain/maintain license for Iowa assignment preferred)
• Minimum ICU experience (critical care background required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required or willingness to obtain
• Completion of License/Certificate Verification and Trinity competency testing
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screening: Fit test, drug screen, Tdap, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, and physical/health statement

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of specialty critical care orientation or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision making
• Ventilator management and weaning knowledge
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Acute cardiac rhythm recognition and management
• Skilled medication administration and IV therapy
• Clear, timely charting and handoff communication
• Teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to thrive on night shift
