Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients with skill and compassion
- Continuously monitor and assess patients' hemodynamic and respiratory status and respond to changes promptly
- Administer medications and complex interventions according to protocols and provider orders
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Perform and document thorough, timely charting in the electronic medical record
- Lead and participate in emergency responses and code situations when needed
- Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans and discharge needs with clarity and empathy
- Maintain required competencies and complete Trinity specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklists
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse credential (license verification required)
- Experience working in an ICU or critical care setting (critical care/ICU focus listed in order)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- TNCC and NIHSS certifications listed as required in the order
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as part of onboarding
- Current immunizations and health screening requirements (TB test/IGRA, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Tdap, influenza, physical/health statement, drug screen, fit test, color vision)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of ICU monitoring, advanced cardiac life support and ventilator management
- Skilled in emergency response, critical thinking and rapid clinical decision-making
- Proficient with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
- Comfortable with specialty competency testing and skills validation processes
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
