Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized neonatal respiratory care to infants in the NICU with compassion and precision
• Operate and manage neonatal ventilators and respiratory support devices safely and effectively
• Assess respiratory status, interpret arterial blood gases, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Collaborate closely with neonatologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to create and implement care plans
• Educate and support families about respiratory therapies, equipment, and care plans with patience and clarity
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to unit protocols and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• BLS certification required (listed in job paperwork)
• Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) experience preferred and highly valued
• Active state respiratory license or ability to obtain/verify license (License/Certificate Verification required)
• Willingness to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
• Ability to pass required health screenings: fit test, Trinity 10 panel drug screen, physical/health statement, color vision, and required immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, 2-step PPD or IGRA)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of neonatal respiratory physiology and ventilator management
• Skilled in neonatal airway management and non-invasive respiratory support
• Ability to interpret blood gases and adjust therapies accordingly
• Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced NICU environment
• Clear, compassionate communication with families and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with NICU protocols, infection control, and documentation best practices
