Shift Type: Rotating schedule: 10-hour Day shifts Monday-Thursday with on-call coverage Friday, Saturday and Sunday; then rotate to 10-hour Night shifts Monday-Thursday with Friday, Saturday and Sunday off (rotating day/night pattern; exact start/end times vary by facility)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled respiratory care across inpatient, outpatient, emergency and home care settings
• Perform pulmonary function testing (PFT) expertly and interpret results to guide care
• Assist with and perform airway management including intubations when required
• Deliver aerosol therapies and advanced respiratory interventions safely and effectively
• Assess patients, develop individualized care plans and document outcomes clearly
• Conduct OSHA respirator fit testing and maintain compliance with safety standards
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments, equipment and disease management
• Maintain organized records and compile data using Microsoft Office for reporting and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner license (required)
• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care (minimum) or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year clinical respiratory experience (new grads with strong recommendations considered)
• PFT experience is a MUST
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS and NRP certifications
• OSHA Respirator Fit Testing certification (must obtain within 3 months of hire if not already current)
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physically active duties

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care (or equivalent diploma/certificate in Respiratory Therapy)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and care planning skills
• Proficiency with pulmonary function testing equipment and respiratory devices
• Comfort performing intubations and advanced airway procedures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for team and patient interactions
• Good time management and organizational abilities
• Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Professional behavior, confidentiality, and adherence to facility policies
