Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room and sterile field for surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons and the perioperative team by passing instruments and anticipating needs
• Ensure proper instrumentation, count accuracy, and sterile technique before, during, and after cases
• Respond professionally and promptly to on-call activations during assigned weekend coverage
• Complete required Trinity skills checklist and specialty-specific competency testing
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in unit safety and quality initiatives

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• License and certificate verification required prior to start
• Ability to pass Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity specialty specific competency testing
• Required immunizations and health screenings: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, 2-step PPD or IGRA, fit test, and Trinity 10 panel drug screen
• Availability for every 3rd weekend on-call (Saturday evening into Sunday morning)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and operating room protocols
• Proficient in surgical instrument identification and handling
• Comfortable assisting with a range of surgical procedures and specialties
• Skilled in rapid response and on-call readiness for overnight activations
• Attention to detail for instrument counts, safety checks, and documentation
