Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the OR and same-day surgery areas
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiology, and perioperative team members to deliver smooth surgical flow
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic
• Maintain aseptic technique and infection-control standards for every case
• Complete required competency testing and skills checklists to meet Trinity standards
• Support patient education, pre-op and post-op care instructions, and family communication
• Participate in unit quality improvement efforts and help maintain a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (required)
• License/certificate verification as required by facility (Oregon licensure verification expected)
• Experience in Operating Room and/or Same Day Surgery (OR/SAHS) settings
• Proficiency with Epic documentation systems
• Successful completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and Trinity skills checklist
• Ability to pass required health screenings: 10-panel drug screen, fit test, two-step PPD or IGRA, and required immunizations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing knowledge and sterile technique
• Epic EMR proficiency for perioperative workflows
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced surgical environments
• Patient assessment, safety vigilance, and infection-prevention practices
• Ability to follow specialty competency protocols and skills checklists
