Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room and Same-Day Surgery (SAHS) settings
• Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare patients, instruments, and the OR environment for procedures
• Document patient care and perioperative events accurately using Epic
• Maintain sterile technique and enforce infection prevention best practices in every case
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to demonstrate and maintain proficiency
• Verify patient identity, procedure, and consent; participate actively in time-outs and team communication
• Support occasional Saturday coverage and flexible team needs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (required)
• Experience working in an Operating Room and/or Surgical Services environment (OR/SAHS)
• Familiarity with Epic for perioperative documentation
• License/certificate verification required (active nursing license or eligibility to obtain in Oregon)
• Completion of Trinity specialty competency testing, annual competency, and skills checklist as part of onboarding
• Required pre-employment health screenings: fit test, drug screen, immunizations and TB screening per facility policy

• Perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Surgical instrumentation and OR workflow
• Epic documentation and perioperative charting
• Infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Strong communication and teamwork in high-paced surgical settings
• Ability to follow competencies, checklists, and facility credentialing requirements
