Medical Laboratory Technician
Location: Moab, UT
Start Date: 12-29-2025
End Date: 03-30-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM (primarily day shift; must be flexible to work graveyard shifts and weekends — rotating nights/weekends as needed)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, timely laboratory test results that directly support patient care decisions
- Perform venous and arterial phlebotomy when needed and ensure proper specimen collection
- Operate and maintain testing across microbiology, hematology, chemistry, blood banking, coagulation, urinalysis, serology and blood gases
- Independently read and interpret microbiology results when required
- Report results clearly and communicate critical findings to providers in a timely manner
- Adapt quickly to varied situations in a rural hospital setting and cross-train across lab sections
- Maintain confidentiality, follow quality control procedures, and uphold safety standards
- Contribute positively to team interactions and help foster a collaborative lab culture
Qualifications
- Current ASCP certification (required)
- Demonstrated phlebotomy skills — venous and arterial blood collection
- Prior experience across microbiology, hematology, chemistry, blood banking, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, and blood gases
- Ability to read microbiology results independently (preferred)
- Emotionally mature, reliable, and able to perform well in STAT or stressful situations
- Excellent customer service and communication skills — oral, written, and listening
- Able to lift/move up to 15 lbs unassisted and heavier with assistance
- Willingness to modify schedule and work occasional graveyard/weekend shifts
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug test and background check
Education
- Current ASCP certification (Medical Laboratory Technician)
