Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to patients — bathing, dressing, toileting and grooming
• Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility to reduce falls and keep patients safe
• Take and accurately record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Support the nursing staff by completing delegated tasks and following care plans
• Document patient interactions and care provided in a clear, timely manner
• Maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for patients
• Communicate respectfully with patients and families to keep them informed and comforted
• Contribute to a positive team culture and help preserve patient dignity

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — North Carolina certification preferred or eligibility to obtain
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Comfortable with patient lifting and safe transfer techniques
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Infection control and proper PPE use
• Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Clear, concise reporting and charting skills
• Empathy, patience and strong interpersonal skills
