Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and functional training to improve quality of life
- Monitor and report patient progress and responses to therapy to the supervising OT for informed care planning
- Complete accurate, timely documentation that meets facility and regulatory guidelines
- Educate patients and families on exercises, adaptive strategies, and safety techniques to support long-term success
Qualifications
- Active California COTA license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Skilled nursing or rehabilitation experience preferred — experience is a plus but enthusiasm and willingness to learn matter
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment and prioritize patient-centered care
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of occupational therapy interventions for ADLs and functional mobility
- Skilled at clinical documentation and reporting outcomes
- Strong patient education and family coaching abilities
- Good time management and organizational skills in a rehab setting
- Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams
