Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients regain function
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional mobility activities to improve independence
- Observe and report patient progress and response to treatment to the supervising PT to ensure care continuity
- Complete accurate and timely documentation per facility and regulatory requirements to maintain high-quality records
- Educate patients and families on exercises, safety, and functional mobility strategies to support long-term outcomes
Qualifications
- Active California Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Skilled Nursing or rehab experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in physical therapy treatments and therapeutic exercise techniques
- Proficient with documentation and compliance in clinical settings
- Experience with gait training and functional mobility activities
- Ability to observe, assess, and report patient progress accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education
- Organizational skills and teamwork in a rehab/skilled nursing environment
- Adaptability to fast-paced clinical workflows
