Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the rehabilitation department to ensure smooth, patient-centered care
• Lead, mentor, and support therapy staff (PT, OT, SLP, and assistants) to build a high-performing team
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations to protect patients and the facility
• Manage productivity, scheduling, and staffing efficiency to optimize patient outcomes and staff satisfaction
• Collaborate with facility leadership to drive quality patient outcomes and continuous improvement
• Monitor documentation, billing accuracy, and clinical performance metrics to maintain high standards
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff retention initiatives to grow and sustain the rehab team

Qualifications

• Licensed PT, OT, or SLP — required
• Previous Director of Rehabilitation or rehab leadership experience — preferred
• Strong knowledge of skilled nursing facility and rehab operations and compliance standards
• Demonstrated leadership, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills
• Experience with staffing, scheduling, productivity management, and clinical documentation preferred
• Commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement

Education

• Licensure as a PT, OT, or SLP (required)
• Relevant clinical degree preferred (as applicable to PT/OT/SLP licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of PT/OT/SLP practices and rehab care in SNF settings
• Familiarity with state and federal healthcare regulations and compliance
• Skills in staff leadership, mentoring, and performance management
• Proficiency in scheduling, productivity tracking, and resource management
• Understanding of documentation standards and billing accuracy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to analyze clinical metrics and drive quality improvement
• Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
