Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts. Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (3x12). Night: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12). Rotating schedule with variable weekends and no guaranteed block schedule; shift assignments reviewed every 4 weeks. Orientation: Week 1 Mon-Fri days; Week 2 36-hour on-unit precepted orientation.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence based nursing care to adult and geriatric MS/Telemetry and oncology patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias with timely interventions
• Perform and document tracheostomy care, suctioning, and inner cannula changes with attention to safety
• Perform IV starts and manage Alaris infusion pumps and medication administration per unit protocols
• Chart accurately and efficiently in Epic to maintain clear, up to date patient records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including PT, respiratory, pharmacy and social services to coordinate care
• Support infection prevention and fall reduction initiatives to keep patients safe
• Float to equivalent or lower acuity units as needed to support staffing and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN clinical experience required
• Current RN license (ability to obtain state credentials as required by facility)
• Epic charting experience required
• BLS required; ACLS, NIHSS and OCN are preferred
• Proven skills in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy care/management
• Previous travel experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work rotating day and night 12-hour shifts and flexible weekend coverage
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only). COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guidelines
• Willingness to float within MedSurg/Oncology units and participate in a 72-hour orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• MedSurg and Telemetry nursing fundamentals with oncology patient familiarity
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
• Tracheostomy care including suctioning and inner cannula changes
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record
• Comfort using Alaris pumps, GE B450 telemetry monitors and bladder scanner
• Strong clinical judgement, acute assessment skills and emergency response capabilities
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team and communicate clearly
