Roles & Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and accurately document patient history, medications, and allergies
• Room patients and prepare exam rooms so providers can focus on care
• Perform specimen collection and labeling, including throat and clean catch urine samples
• Assist with procedures and set up nebulizer treatments, injections, and immunizations
• Manage telephone triage and follow-up calls to support patient continuity
• Handle front office scheduling and pharmacy refill requests with professionalism
• Chart in the EHR (Epic experience preferred) and maintain clear, timely documentation
• Administer TB tests, perform blood glucose checks via glucometer, and assist with suture removal when needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Front Office Medical Assistant or Scheduling experience required
• Epic EHR experience for at least 1 year preferred
• BLS certification preferred
• Comfortable with basic clinical tasks including vitals, specimen collection, and injections
• Professional communication skills for patient interactions and phone triage
• Willingness to wear solid colored scrubs in maroon or burgundy as the facility uniform
• Able to complete a 40-hour orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Obtain vital signs and perform rooming duties
• Patient history documentation and EHR/charting (Epic experience preferred)
• Specimen collection and labeling, including venipuncture knowledge though not required
• Telephone triage and effective patient communication
• Front office scheduling and handling pharmacy refill requests
• Administration of injections and immunizations
• Nebulizer treatments and blood glucose testing via glucometer
• Administration of TB tests and basic wound care such as suture removal
