Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Day). Orientation: First day 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; 2-week orientation period
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $30 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens and perform phlebotomy procedures safely and efficiently
- Verify patient identity and ensure accurate labeling and documentation for every specimen
- Adhere to infection control procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Prepare and transport specimens to the lab following chain-of-custody and facility protocols
- Communicate respectfully with patients and the care team to ensure positive experiences
- Maintain inventory of supplies and report equipment or supply needs promptly
- Participate fully in orientation and ongoing training to meet facility standards
Qualifications
- Phlebotomy certification or completion of an accredited phlebotomy program
- Comfortable working in a correctional facility setting and following facility-specific protocols
- Strong attention to detail and excellent patient identification and labeling practices
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to complete required onboarding clearances (background check, immunizations/TB screening as required by facility)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program or equivalent certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in venipuncture and capillary collection techniques
- Knowledge of specimen handling, labeling, and chain-of-custody procedures
- Familiarity with infection control and universal precautions
- Basic documentation and electronic charting skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient-centered, and professional in high-security settings
