Roles & Responsibilities

• Process and prepare surgical instruments and trays with precision to keep the OR running smoothly
• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble and sterilize instrumentation following facility and regulatory standards
• Maintain accurate documentation and logs for instrument tracking and sterilization cycles
• Collaborate with surgical teams and perioperative staff to ensure timely tray turnaround
• Perform equipment checks, routine maintenance and report any issues to support uninterrupted patient care
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety policies to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Certification in Sterile Processing required (facility notes: certification required)
• Previous sterile processing experience or training preferred
• Ability to work Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM and maintain consistent attendance
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to aseptic technique
• Ability to pass required health screenings and checks listed by the facility
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment and collaborating with clinical teams

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of sterilization methods, decontamination and instrument handling
• Familiarity with sterilization equipment (autoclaves/low temp sterilizers) and biological indicators
• Instrument identification, tray assembly and sterile storage best practices
• Understanding of infection prevention standards and regulatory compliance
• Good documentation skills and comfort using inventory/sterilization tracking systems
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in perioperative settings
