Roles & Responsibilities

• Process, decontaminate, inspect, assemble and sterilize surgical instruments and trays
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and maintain accurate cycle documentation
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure instruments meet safety and sterility standards
• Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to prioritize instrument sets and support OR flow
• Maintain inventory, stock sterile supplies, and report equipment malfunctions promptly
• Follow infection control policies and contribute to a safe patient care environment

Qualifications

• Certification required in Sterile Processing (candidate must have active certification)
• Experience in sterile processing or central sterile services preferred
• Ability to pass required screenings and health checks including fit test, TB questionnaire, drug screen, color vision and required immunizations
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection prevention protocols
• Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work the scheduled shift

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Formal sterile processing training or certificate program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of sterile processing principles and instrumentation
• Familiarity with sterilization technologies (autoclave, low-temp sterilizers) and cleaning protocols
• Comfortable with documentation, tracking systems, and basic inventory management
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with surgical teams
• Strong organizational skills and adherence to safety and quality standards
