Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess residents' functional abilities and create person-centered occupational therapy plans
- Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions to improve independence with daily activities
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy colleagues, and families to coordinate care
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge plans clearly and timely
- Train and educate staff and family members on carryover strategies and adaptive techniques
- Monitor outcomes and adjust treatment plans to meet patient goals and facility requirements
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in Montana or eligible for Montana licensure
- Current professional certification and registration as required (NBCOT or state equivalent preferred)
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background checks, and health screenings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work with interdisciplinary teams
- Comfort working in a skilled nursing/rehabilitation setting and responding to urgent staffing needs
Education
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (degree as required by state licensure)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in evaluations, ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Knowledge of documentation standards for skilled nursing and rehabilitation settings
- Ability to create measurable, person-centered treatment goals
- Familiarity with safety protocols, fall prevention, and mobility training
- Comfortable instructing and coaching caregivers and facility staff
