Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert inpatient infectious disease consultations and management at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport
• Manage a busy outpatient infectious disease clinic on the hospital campus, delivering continuity of care
• Rotate weekly with a colleague to cover both outpatient clinic and inpatient consults, ensuring seamless handoffs
• Cover on-call responsibilities every other week (nights and weekends) to support urgent clinical needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, and quality initiatives
• Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to system-level improvements that enhance patient care
• Support and mentor trainees and colleagues in infectious disease best practices

Qualifications

• Physician specializing in Infectious Disease (title: Physician - Infectious Disease)
• Active Illinois and Iowa medical licenses required
• Experience providing both inpatient and outpatient infectious disease care and managing on-call responsibilities
• Open to H-1B visa candidates (J-1 waivers cannot be accepted)
• Not accepting locum tenens candidates

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical infectious disease management across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Strong consultative skills for complex infections and antimicrobial decision-making
• Ability to manage on-call scenarios including nights and weekends
• Effective communication and teamwork with hospitalists, surgeons, nursing staff, and infection prevention teams
• Comfort working within hospital systems and coordinating continuity of care between clinic and inpatient services
