Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative care — pre-op assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative follow-up
• Deliver general and regional anesthesia including epidurals, peripheral nerve blocks, and management of OB cases (epidurals, C-sections)
• Lead and support the Anesthesia Department as an engaged physician leader
• Collaborate closely with independently practicing CRNAs and a multidisciplinary care team
• Participate equitably in a paid call rotation and ensure post-call patient safety
• Supervise and teach internal medicine and surgery residents when involved in education
• Contribute to quality initiatives in partnership with Oregon Health & Science University

Qualifications

• Board Eligible or Board Certified (BE/BC) in Anesthesiology
• MD or DO degree (completion of anesthesiology residency expected)
• Experience with obstetric anesthesia including epidurals and C-sections
• Comfortable performing regional anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks
• Experience using Epic electronic health record
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with CRNAs and surgical teams
• Clean malpractice history and background (NPDB self-query report required)
• Residency within the immediate local area required; relocation assistance may be available
• Open to H-1B and J-1 visa candidates (per posting); Locums not accepted

Education

• MD or DO
• Completion of Anesthesiology Residency
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Anesthesiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge of general and regional anesthesia techniques
• Skilled in perioperative patient management and intraoperative decision-making
• Familiarity with obstetric anesthesia workflows and neonatal considerations
• Proficient with Epic EHR for documentation and orders
• Leadership skills to support department operations and quality initiatives
• Teaching and supervision skills for trainees and collaborative practice with CRNAs
• Comfort managing a broad case mix (everything except heads and hearts; healthy pediatric cases only)
