Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cardiovascular care to adult and geriatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Perform regular inpatient rounding, collaborate with surgeons and bedside staff, and ensure continuity of care
• Manage outpatient clinic visits efficiently, delivering patient-centered assessments and follow-up plans
• Document all patient encounters and care plans accurately in EPIC
• Participate in the APP call rotation and coordinate handoffs to maintain safe, continuous coverage
• Work closely with office staff, surgical schedulers, and onsite management to optimize clinic operations
• Communicate clearly with patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up needs

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, current or eligible for Virginia licensure
• Experience in cardiovascular care and comfort with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Proven ability to perform inpatient rounding and manage outpatient clinic workflows
• Familiarity with EPIC or similar EMR systems
• Basic and advanced life support certifications recommended, such as BLS and ACLS
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills
• Willingness to complete credentialing; estimated timeframe 90-120 days

Education

• Graduate degree from an accredited NP or PA program (or equivalent professional preparation)

• Proficient documentation skills in EPIC
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient education
• Triage and clinical prioritization during call coverage
