Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care for adult and pediatric patients in a community ED
• Respond to house codes and deliver airway and resuscitation support as needed
• Supervise and collaborate with midlevel providers on duty to ensure excellent patient flow
• Interpret EKGs and oversee cardiac care in coordination with cardiology consults
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the Cerner EHR
• Coordinate transfers and referrals with regional centers and transport teams
• Communicate effectively with hospitalists, consultants, nursing, and EMS to optimize patient disposition

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (required)
• Active or eligible to obtain credentialing to practice at the facility; estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days
• Comfortable using Cerner EHR for documentation and orders
• Proven experience in airway management and code response
• Experience supervising APPs and working in team-based ED models
• Familiarity with Kronos timekeeping or willingness to use Kronos for clock in/out
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a community ED

Education

• Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of Emergency Medicine residency
• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Medicine clinical expertise and rapid decision making
• EKG recognition and initial interpretation skills
• Airway management and resuscitation proficiency
• Experience with Cerner EHR workflows and electronic documentation
• Understanding of transfer/referral protocols and regional resources
• Comfort working in a busy ED environment averaging ~54 patients/day
• Ability to collaborate with consultants, hospitalists, nursing, and transport services
