Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to IMCU patients during overnight shifts
- Continuously assess and monitor patient status, interpreting telemetry and hemodynamic data
- Administer medications, manage infusions, and implement physician orders with precision
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and transitions
- Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
- Respond quickly to decompensation and escalate concerns to providers as needed
- Support and educate patients and families with empathy and clear communication
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (GA license or compact state eligibility recommended) — License/Certificate Verification required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist (per facility requirements)
- Current fit test and required immunizations/drug screen as listed in the job packet
- Comfort working in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or similar monitored setting
- Strong teamwork, critical thinking, and communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation in a step-down/IMCU environment
- Critical care fundamentals: hemodynamic monitoring, infusion management, and rapid assessment
- Skilled medication administration and titration under protocols
- Proficient clinical documentation and use of electronic medical records
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay calm during high-acuity situations
- Collaborative communication with physicians, therapists, and support staff
