Shift Type: PRN/as-needed day shifts; option for half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours). Schedule varies by site (examples from current openings: Lincoln, NH — 1 day/week; Lebanon, NH — 1 day/week; Concord, NH — 2 days/week). Daytime shifts (exact start/end times vary by clinic).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with professionalism and care
- Conduct thorough interview-based evaluations to capture veterans’ histories and symptoms
- Perform focused physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Complete clear, timely medical reports, addendums, and medical opinions in the required portal
- Review and interpret diagnostic information as needed to support exam findings
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with VES procedures and credentialing requirements
- Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders and contribute to continuity of care for Veterans
- Participate in required trainings and onboarding to ensure quality and consistency
Qualifications
- Current and active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the practicing state
- Clinical background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine
- Experience with Compensation & Pension exams or demonstrable interest and ability to learn the process
- Strong clinical examination skills including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Excellent medical record documentation and report-writing ability
- Ability to work independently in your own office or at a per diem site
- Must be located within a 50-mile radius of the assigned city for per-diem or provider-owned office roles
- Willingness to complete required portal and training modules prior to starting
Education
- Graduate-level NP certification (MSN or post-graduate NP certificate) and active NP licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with C&P exam structure and veteran-centered interview techniques
- Proficiency in focused physical assessment: ROM and muscle strength testing
- Strong medical-legal style report writing and addendum preparation
- Ability to read and incorporate diagnostic findings into evaluations
- Comfort with electronic clinical portals and timely documentation
- Attention to detail, time management, and veteran-focused communication skills
- Understanding of non-treatment exam boundaries (no prescribing or treatment during exams)
