Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub electrophysiology ablation and LAAO procedures with precision and confidence
• Assist with cardiac device implantations (PPM/ICD) and provide device support in the EP lab
• Perform intra-operative monitoring and scrub/monitor duties to ensure patient safety
• Operate and maintain lab equipment (Toshiba imaging, cath lab systems) and EMR charting (McKesson/MEDITECH)
• Respond to on-call activations within a 30-minute window to support emergent cases
• Float seamlessly between Bryan and College Station campuses to support staffing needs
• Collaborate with cardiologists, cath lab techs and nursing leadership to deliver exceptional patient care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of EP / cath lab technologist experience with hands-on scrubbing required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• ARRT or RCIS certification required (CCI verification for RCIS)
• Demonstrated experience scrubbing ablations, LAAO cases and cardiac device procedures
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities, weekend coverage and floating between campuses
• Ability to work in an acute care setting and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Must meet facility eligibility (candidates not employed by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity within the past year are preferred per posting rules)

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certificate in cardiovascular technology preferred
• RCIS or ARRT certification required; BLS and ACLS required

Knowledge & Skills

• Electrophysiology lab workflows and scrub technique for ablations and device implants
• Cardiac cath lab procedures: LHC, RHC, peripheral angiography, PCI and device implantations
• Experience with LAAO procedures and intra-operative monitoring
• Familiarity with EMR systems (McKesson, MEDITECH) and Toshiba imaging equipment
• Strong aseptic technique, instrument handling, and sterile field management
• Ability to prioritize in fast-paced acute settings and respond rapidly to emergent cases
• Teamwork, clear communication, and patient-focused bedside manner
