Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Rapidly assess and triage patients, prioritizing care in a fast-paced ER environment
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform emergency interventions per protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, CNAs, and charge staff to ensure safe patient flow
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Support unit staff during high acuity and census fluctuations while maintaining patient safety
• Participate in unit-based policies, safety checks, and quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• Current RN license (California) required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience (required)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS and CPI certifications required
• Current ACLS/PALS and up-to-date immunizations/TB as per facility policy
• Ability to work 12-hour PM/overnight shifts and weekends as needed
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable working in a high-acuity ER with patient ratios around 4:1
• Experience with EMR systems — Meditech knowledge is a plus
• Triage, trauma assessment, airway management and critical care skills
• IV therapy, medication administration, EKG interpretation and emergency procedures
• Adaptability to changing census and flexible approach to unit needs
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication skills
