Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, start times vary (6:45 AM/PM for day/night, midshifts at 9, 11, 1, 3), every other weekend, matrix scheduling

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population, from pediatrics to trauma
Assess, triage, and stabilize patients arriving with conditions ranging from cardiac emergencies to strokes
Administer medications, including pressors and sedation, and monitor patient responses
Collaborate with a dedicated team of physicians, mid-levels, and support staff in a fast-paced Level III trauma center
Interpret cardiac rhythms and perform EKGs independently
Care for patients in a 18-bed ER including 4 critical rooms, fast track, and hold areas

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
Active RN license in Texas or compact state
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) before contract start

Knowledge & Skills

Strong dysrhythmia interpretation skills
Experience with common ER drips and procedures
Ability to triage and manage multiple patients with varying acuity
Comfortable working with pediatrics, cardiac, stroke, and trauma patients
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
