Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional post-operative care for patients undergoing total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology, abdominal surgery, and bariatric procedures
• Monitor and manage patients with medical overflow, including telemetry monitoring
• Administer medications, PCA pumps, TPN, and occasional heparin drips with precision
• Collaborate with a close-knit team in a supportive culture with bedside shift reporting
• Float to medical and telemetry units when needed, assisting with patient care

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota or compact state
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1-2 years of Med Surg or surgical experience preferred
• Comfortable with post-op care, early ambulation, and telemetry monitoring
• First-time travelers welcome - we'll support you every step of the way!

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for a fast-paced 30-bed unit
• Experience with surgical drains (JP, Hemovac), colostomies, and wound care
• Ability to titrate drips (heparin) and manage PCA pumps and TPN
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for bedside shift report
• Adaptability to float between units and work with telemetry patients
