Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate bedside care for NICU infants during night shifts
• Assess, monitor and document neonatal patients’ conditions and progress
• Supervise and mentor bedside nurses, providing guidance and support
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary team members to develop care plans
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies and rapid changes in patient condition
• Ensure accurate medication administration and adherence to safety protocols
• Communicate empathetically with families, offering education and updates

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be in good standing)
• Previous NICU clinical experience and charge nurse or leadership experience
• Current BLS certification required; NRP preferred or required by facility
• Strong clinical assessment and neonatal resuscitation skills
• Ability to work independently on night shifts and lead a small team

Education

• Professional nursing degree (ADN/BSN) or equivalent; BSN preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth neonatal critical care knowledge and assessment skills
• Comfort with IVs, lines, ventilators and neonatal monitoring equipment
• Strong leadership, delegation and team communication skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation standards
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple critically ill infants simultaneously
