Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled respiratory care, treatment and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies and acute pulmonary conditions
• Manage and titrate mechanical ventilation and advanced ventilator modes to optimize patient outcomes
• Deliver and monitor high flow nasal cannula, CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen therapy and nebulizer treatments safely and effectively
• Perform airway management tasks including suctioning and emergency respiratory interventions
• Document patient assessment, treatments and progress accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Participate in stroke education initiatives and support stroke protocols when applicable
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment (V60, Servo-1, Servo-U and other devices) and ensure proper infection control

Qualifications

• NBRC credential required
• Active RT license for the state of Florida
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• Prior Meditech experience preferred but not mandatory
• Strong collaborative approach with physicians and care teams

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and advanced ventilator modes
• High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapies
• Non-invasive ventilation: CPAP and BiPAP
• Oxygen therapy, nebulizer therapy and airway suction techniques
• Familiarity with V60, Servo-1, Servo-U ventilators and related respiratory equipment
• Documentation in Meditech or similar electronic medical record systems
• Stroke education principles and acute stroke care workflows
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced acute care environment
