Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized wound care assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Perform ongoing wound monitoring, dressing changes, and documentation with attention to detail
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and caregivers on wound prevention, home care, and follow-up needs
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards and maintain accurate, timely charting
• Coordinate referrals and communicate changes in patient status to providers promptly
• Support unit operations by mentoring colleagues and contributing to quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience in wound care nursing (clinical experience preferred)
• Proof of negative TB screen within 12 months of the contract start date
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient-education skills
• Ability to pass required credentialing and background checks for contract assignments

Education

• Completion of an accredited nursing program and current RN licensure in California

Knowledge & Skills

• Wound assessment and staging, advanced dressing selection, and local wound therapies
• Patient-centered education and discharge planning for wound care
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting practices
• Familiarity with infection prevention and wound-care best practices
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and care coordination
• Basic EMR navigation and timely reporting of patient status changes
