Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to adult patients on a 36-bed med-surg telemetry unit
• Monitor and respond to cardiac telemetry and patient observation systems promptly and accurately
• Document patient care using Cerner Patient Observation (CPO) and maintain clear, timely records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, patient-centered care
• Serve as a reliable bedside resource during admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Participate in unit initiatives to improve patient outcomes and workflow efficiency
• Cover floating assignments to sister med-surge units (3W, 5W, K8) as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical RN experience (telemetry or med-surg experience strongly preferred)
• Experience with medical telemetry monitoring and Cerner EMR preferred
• CMSRN encouraged — clinical specialty certification is a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and willing to work weekend shifts

Education

• Active RN license required; BSN preferred (ADN acceptable if other qualifications met)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with medical remote telemetry monitoring and recognizing arrhythmias
• Familiarity with Cerner Patient Observation (CPO) and general Cerner workflows
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to use workstation-on-wheels and bedside VC150 equipment for documentation and patient care
