Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive care to step-down and medical-surgical patients on a 20-bed telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry data and respond to changes in patient status
• Perform thorough patient assessments and execute individualized care plans
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe, efficient patient care and quick turnover
• Document care accurately and promptly in the Cerner EMR to ensure continuity and compliance
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining appropriate patient ratios
• Support unit needs by floating to other areas as required and contributing as a dependable team player

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with progressive care / telemetry experience
• Minimum of 2+ years of relevant nursing experience (telemetry/progressive care preferred)
• Telemetry competency and recent progressive care experience are highly valued
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and strong documentation practices
• Willingness and ability to float to other units as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills
• Solid assessment and clinical decision-making in a PCU/step-down environment
• Effective communication and teamwork across disciplines
• Ability to manage quick patient turnover and prioritize care in a fast-paced unit
• Hands-on experience with bedside monitoring equipment and inpatient workflows
• Compassionate patient engagement and a focus on patient experience
