Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
Continuously assess and monitor patient status, intervening promptly for changes
Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to develop and implement care plans
Educate and support families through complex care decisions and transitions
Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to maintain best practices
Contribute to a culture of safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-appropriate) — ability to obtain California licensure if not already held
Experience or strong interest in pediatric critical care / PICU nursing
Current BLS; PALS and ACLS preferred or supported through employer-sponsored training
Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team and during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and PICU workflows
Familiarity with ventilator management, infusion pumps, and advanced monitoring
Skilled in medication administration, titration, and accurate documentation
Comfortable engaging with families and explaining complex clinical information clearly
Ability to prioritize in fast-paced, high-acuity situations
