Shift Type: Variable schedule, 4-hour shifts (exact start/end times vary by facility schedule); orientation required. Shift type: PACU (Pediatrics).

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients in the PACU
Monitor vital signs and recovery progress, intervening promptly when needed
Administer medications and pain management as ordered and per protocol
Communicate clearly and empathetically with families and multidisciplinary team members
Perform thorough handoffs and documentation in the patient record
Assist with safe transport and discharge planning from the PACU
Maintain a safe, clean and child-friendly recovery environment

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) required
Experience or demonstrated competence in PACU care and pediatrics
Ability to complete required orientation prior to independent assignment
Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
Current basic life support skills expected (orientation will cover unit specifics)

Knowledge & Skills

Post-anesthesia monitoring and recovery principles for children
Pediatric airway and pain management basics
IV medication administration and infusion monitoring
Accurate and timely clinical documentation
Collaborative teamwork in a fast-paced perioperative setting
Family-centered communication and education
