Shift Type: 8.5-hour OR shifts (exact start/end times and days to be confirmed with facility); RN - OR-General

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room
Prepare the OR and necessary equipment for surgical procedures
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative team to ensure smooth cases
Monitor patient status and intervene promptly to maintain patient safety
Maintain sterile technique and uphold infection prevention standards
Document assessments, interventions, and perioperative activities accurately
Participate in team huddles and contribute to continuous improvement in the OR

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (required)
Previous Operating Room/perioperative nursing experience preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications encouraged
CNOR certification preferred but not required
Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced OR environment and maintain patient safety

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Perioperative nursing standards and sterile technique
Familiarity with common surgical instruments, equipment, and OR workflows
Patient assessment and intraoperative monitoring
Clear communication with multidisciplinary surgical teams
Time management and the ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
