Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered oncology and women's surgical nursing care
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patients closely across overnight shifts
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, including oncology medications per facility protocols (chemo certification preferred)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Document patient care and clinical findings using Cerner EMR with clarity and timeliness
• Assist with unit procedures as needed (occasional pelvic exams, echo, thoracentesis)
• Maintain safe patient ratios and prioritize patient safety and comfort throughout the shift

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (experience noted in job posting)
• BLS certification (required)
• Chemo Certification (preferred)
• Experience in oncology, women’s surgical nursing or med-surg settings
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and supporting weekend staffing requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Cerner EMR and accurate clinical documentation
• Comfort managing a 1:4 or 1:5 patient ratio on a 24-bed oncology/women’s surgical unit
• Familiarity with standard med-surg unit equipment and oncology care practices
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a willingness to learn
• Ability to assist with common procedures and escalate concerns appropriately
