Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour Med/Surg shifts (exact start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed by Cottage Hospital)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $48 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor clinical changes
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Document care and patient progress clearly in the medical record
Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to support discharge planning and continuity of care
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up needs
Participate in unit quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NH license or compact where applicable)
Experience or training in Med/Surg nursing (experience preferred)
Current BLS certification; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS) are a plus
Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and standards of care
Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
Comfortable with electronic medical record documentation
Excellent communication, prioritization, and time-management abilities
Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and support staff
